Manswood, Spring

For a few weeks at the end of April and into early May the floors of many deciduous forests throughout Dorset are covered with a carpet of blue flowers – bluebells (Endymion non-scriptus). Also appearing at this time of year are a wide range of other small flowering spring plants – all taking advantage of the lengthening hours of sunlight and warmer temperatures.
