Wimborne Folk Festival

Over three days during the month of June the small town of Wimborne is host to the annual Wimborne Folk Festival. With numerous workshops, concerts, bands, and in some years up to 60 morris and folk dance teams giving 250+ performances infront of 30,000+ visitors – it's a ' not to be missed ' entry in the Dorset calendar of events.

The pictures here give only a small flavour of this major event, which packs the town from the starting procession on the Friday evening through to the last jig on the Sunday evening – leaving all with sore feet and buzzing heads! Saturday and Sunday are busiest – when the streets around the small town centre are filled to capacity with Morris dancers, musicians and and a throng of appreciative spectators.
