Moors Valley Country Park

Flanking the Avon valley, this part of Dorset is characterised by large tracts of coniferous woodland, managed commercially by the Forestry Commission. To open up this area to the general public two country parks have been formed, Avon Heath to the south of the A31 and Moors Valley to the north.

The main feature at Moors Valley Country Park is the Playtrail – a forest trail linking a number of activity areas filled with timber constructions such as raised walkways, rope bridges, a giant ants nest and monstrous creatures. Both very young (and old) can let off steam and play. Additionally there are numerous cycle routes, an adventure playground, information centre and acres of forest – yet solitude can still be found just a short distance from the car park.
